Avalon maintains a policy of openness and transparency in its plans for the exploration and re-development of the Viscaria Copper-Iron Project.

The Company intends to progress the Viscaria Project in careful consultation with all of its stakeholders, including the Kiruna Kommun, the Sami and local employment representatives. In addition, the Company is in close consultation with the Swedish railway authority with regard to the relocation of the Kiruna to Narvik railway.

The Viscaria Project is located close to the town of Kiruna and is traversed by rail and power infrastructure. The Viscaria  Project has always co-existed with the other land use and planning issues in Kiruna and it is Avalon’s intention to maintain the status quo.

It is Avalon’s goal to establish a new mining operation at Viscaria. This will initially involve 3 open deposits on the A, B and D Zones, Followed by underground mining and the construction of a new treatment plant and the employment of up to 200 operators and contractors based in Kiruna.  In addition to establishing new mining operations at Viscaria, the Company seeks to discover new copper and iron deposits in its ground holdings surrounding Viscaria.

Any resident of Kiruna is invited to contact the Company direct by email at [email protected]
