Northern Sweden (5,835 KB) Avalon Minerals Adak AB (Avalon) a Swedish based wholly owned subsidiary of Avalon Minerals Ltd - an exploration company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange holds four tenements located known as the Adak Copper project in the world-class Skelleftea VMS mining district in Vasterbotten County in Northern Sweden Figure 1 Skellefte District – Mineral Deposits. The project is situated 800km north of Stockholm and 20km NW of Malå, the main town of the municipality & home to the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU). The main tenement covers an area of 26.71 km². The project comprises; the main tenement Adak number 1 plus smaller outlying tenements Domarseinaset No 1 and Branntrask No 101 (Table 1) which were purchased from Phelps Dodge Corporation on 29th February 2008 and includes a net smelter royalty (NSR) of 1% on minerals produced or sold from the properties. Adak No 2 is an extra tenement application submitted by Avalon in March 2008 which encloses Adak No1.
Avalon is focusing its financial and human resources on development of its Viscaria Copper Mine project located near Kiruna in Northern Sweden about 300km due north of Adak. The Adak base metal project is therefore offered for sale.
